Mr. Wade Webb, 94, of LaGrange passed away July 6, 2018 at LaGrange Hospice, LaGrange, Georgia. He was born in LaGrange on March 26, 1924 to the late Cleveland Otis and Chloel Gamble Webb.
Mr. Webb served in the Army during World War II as a fireman who rescued pilots from burning planes as they landed in England. He was later employed at Callaway Mills as well as a security guard at Atlanta Airport.
Mr. Webb is survived by daughters, Virginia Nelson (Buddy), Cathie Lane (Bob), Cindy Collins (Ferrol); step-daughter, Pat Vessell; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and sister Dorothy Bonner; and grand-dog Butterbean.
He was predeceased by two wives, Elsie Mae Webb and Sue Elizabeth Webb; brothers, Ray Webb and Raymond Webb; daughter Elizabeth Jane Webb; grandson, David Brian Gauntt.
Visitation for Mr. Webb will be Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 1:30-3 P.M. with service following at 3:00 P.M. at Higgins LaGrange Chapel Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Botica and Rev. Kenneth Cole will officiate. Flowers will be accepted; however, donations may be made to LaGrange Hospice.
